RESERVATIONIST & HOST AT JOJO’S BELOVED COCKTAIL LOUNGE

Position Summary

The Reservationist/Host is the first point of contact for Jojo’s Beloved, responding in person as well as online (via Resy, email, and Google Text) to manage all reservations for the lounge. In addition to managing the reservations, Reservationists will perform host duties during service. Candidates for this position must have a professional, friendly and enthusiastic demeanor both in person and in written communication. Good grooming, the ability to get along well with others and to work in a fast paced environment are essential.

Responsibilities, Duties, Functions, and Tasks

  • Greets all guests entering the lounge and thanks all guests leaving

  • Maintains cleanliness and organization at the host stand and front door area

  • Responds to emails, takes reservations, manages reservations in Resy system

  • Manages a customer waitlist, ensuring that tables are turned over for new and
    waiting customers

  • Maintains an organized floor by quickly and efficiently seating guests

  • Clearly and politely communicate with guests when delays and/or waits occur

  • Ensures that all menus are clean, in good shape, and presentable to the guest

  • Provides reservation counts and informs Manager of special requests, large parties,
    private events, etc.

  • Informs bar staff and shift supervisor of special requests, birthdays, anniversaries,
    etc. as soon as a party is seated

  • Ensures that every person that comes in the venue is carded, of legal age and
    following dress code, isis

  • Has a welcoming and accommodating attitude with every guest

  • Knowledgeable of current and future events at the venue

  • Maintains a professional appearance, dress code, and integrity of the venue at all
    times

  • Diffuses situations calmly and respectfully, preventing an escalation whenever
    possible

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Alcohol Server’s Permit

Skills and Aptitudes

  • Must be motivated, hardworking, passionate with superior verbal skills

  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and decision-making abilities

  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and willingness to work as a team to go above and
    beyond expectations

  • Ability to spot potential situations and resolve conflicts with respect and decorum,
    escalating to management when necessary

  • Minimum of 1 year of host and or restaurant experience in a high volume
    environment

  • Prior experience managing reservations in Resy or similar platform such as
    OpenTable preferred.

  • Ability to keep an open and objective view, listen empathetically, and be respectful
    always

  • Leadership finesse along with the ability to effectively communicate and motivate a
    team into high performance.

  • Successful applicants must be able to transition between busy and slower times of
    the evening, maximizing every guest’s experience.

  • A proven track record of personally providing excellent customer service, sales or
    previous experience working in a nightclub, bar, restaurant, hotel or similar role a
    plus.

  • Ability to speak and hear, vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and th ability to adjust focus

  • Constant standing, sitting and walking

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.

  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Be able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to cut, measure, pour, serve, carry and wipe.

  • Regularly required to use hands and frequent washing of hands.
